A Thursday Special here at The Lighthouse!
These dudes from Mexico will get you moving …
The band was formed in 2007 by Mr. Kamer, and starting out as a surf band, they began their journey in independent music.
The project began to change its members. Their first album was recorded under the name “KAMER SURFERS”
Named “Una Tarde de Amore” and released towards the end of 2011, it reached many of the most important music forums in Mexico city’s new independent music scene.
Los Kamer had a brief hiatus in 2013 after the exit of a couple of members, but towards the end of that year Kamer and Alan took the project up again, now in search of a new sound, with swing, jazz and balkan based intentions, and with more experience under their belts. They shortened the name to just “Los Kamer” to better fit their new sound.
In February 2014 Karim (clarinets) and Hiram Huaracha (trumpet) were added to the lineup, adding their own twists to the band with new sounds. Together the began to create the new songs for the second album. At the start of 2015 Alejandro More (drums) and Roots Baloo (saxophone) rejoined the band and they began to consolidate their ideas with the new sound of the band. One more member joined towards the start of 2015 (Pablo Groove, Saxophone).
Now with 7 members each with their own musical ideas a new sounds began to work and continues to grow day by day. Members with different tastes and ideas are learning to use every tool at their disposal to keep making music. They arrived recently from their first, very successful tour of Europe, and are seeking to expand their sound across the entire globe.
